Who is AECH?
AECH comprises people of faith representing many faith traditions who are committed to helping our homeless neighbors gain a positive place within society. We listen to needs, create public awareness, advocate for the homeless and fund the Warming Souls Winter Overflow Shelter.
2011 Warming Souls Winter Overflow
The Warming Souls Winter Overflow Shelter opened on 1 November and will remain open through March 2012. Check-in has changed this year. Women desiring to stay at the shelter need to check in at Mosaic Church, 216 S. Market. Men will check in at Inter-Faith Inn as usual.
Many hands make light work. If you would like to volunteer your time, or donate goods or money to the Shelter, please contact us using the form provided. Chronic homelessness is a community issue and working together we can prevent the suffering caused by chronic homelessness. Share your voice at our weekly meetings: 5:30pm at Inter-Faith Ministries, 829 N. Market, every Tuesday.
Warming Souls 2010: A Look Back
The 2010 Warming Souls Overflow Shelter closed for the season as scheduled in March. Thank you to everyone who participated this year. Whether you donated money, time, or even offered a warm smile, you played an immeasurable role in the 2010 Warming Souls Overflow Shelter.
We faced a shortfall early on, but Wichita banded together to provide for our homeless friends and neighbors. You can look back at this year in our 2010 Warming Souls summary, or get in touch with us to partner with AECH now as we plan for 2011 and beyond.
